Confidence Comes From Success After Struggle

A strong positive mindset gives us the courage to deal with struggles and the uncomfortable feelings we want to avoid. Allowing our kids to be challenged without stepping in to help is so important.

Confident athletes don’t need external validation. They take risks and get outside their comfort zone to improve and grow. They know how to overcome failure. They stand up for themselves. They have a positive body image, positive self-talk and intrinsic motivation.

Alison’s approach has been developed over 15 years working with young athletes in sports. She uses evidence-based practices that are easy for kids to understand and apply in their everyday lives.

Tools are designed specifically for your daughter’s needs, desires and future goals. She will learn the power of a strong mindset and how to use it to learn and grow.

As an REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy) Certified Coach, Alison can guide athletes through the identification of irrational thoughts or beliefs limiting their potential and helping develop new thinking for the future.

6 weeks 1 on 1

A typical program runs weekly for 6 sessions and includes text check-ins as athletes practice new skills. It is important for your daughter to have her sport activity a few times a week so she can try out the tools we develop together. Parents can share any insight or concerns before we begin; and during the program. At the end of the 6 weeks your daughter will have a toolbox of resources and a new found confidence. Changes will not happen overnight but over time as her practice becomes part of her automatic routine you will see her grow.

  1. Week 1 starts with a survey that will help Alison get to know your daughter and will build her self-awareness.
  2. Week 2 is all about how the brain works and the importance of stepping outside our comfort zones to take manageable risks.
  3. Week 3’s session tackles emotions and teaches a strategy called RULER to work through uncomfortable feelings.
  4. Week 4 is time spent on managing pressure, learning different mindfulness exercises and improving focus.
  5. Week 5 is about self-compassion, motivation, goal setting and finding ways to enjoy the learning process.
  6. Week 6 is a celebration. Alison will review the key messages with your daughter, ensure she has a toolbox of resources and strategies for reflecting, revising and repeating.

Cost is $395 CAN for 6 sessions
